About this Call
: "Between sketch comedy and performance art, improvisation and stand-up acts, musical theater and abstract "theatre" lies MOSAIC: our unconventional take on 18 different social, personal and political happenings of today.  Be it song, sketch, parody, puppet show, guessing game: every week, we find freshly creative ways to redefine comedy and shed light on our lives and yours.  We can't tell you exactly what combination of originality you'll see any given week, but we can promise this: the show is updated regularly, so even after you love it once, you can come back and love it again."

Above is the "blurb" for MOSAIC.  The show is written and refined by the people who perform it and uses 18 cardboard tiles on a metal frame as  backdrop to performance.  15 tiles correspond with written pieces and 3 correspond with improvised pieces.  The improv is fairly basic; the writing is unconventional and relies on immediacy and honesty -- similar to the style you might see from the Neofuturists (Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind) in Chicago.  But not exactly.  We strongly recommend seeing the show before auditioning so you know what you're going after.

Or, for now, you can start here with some of our featured press or here for some pieces you could read from this show and previous incarnations.

Who we are casting:
We are seeking writers who also perform (or, performers who also write) to join our cast of MOSAIC on an ongoing basis.  We rehearse Monday nights and perform on Saturday nights, but due to space availability, this audition is on a Wednesday.   We are also accepting auditions from performers who do not write, and such performers would be expected to perform with us for a 3-4 month stint (September through the end of the year).

Everyone who is cast would begin rehearsing with the ensemble in mid to late August.

Audition Preparation:
No preparation necessary
Arrive prepared to deal with scripts and do some basic improvisation.
Potential writer / performers will eventually be asked to submit a written piece . . . but not yet!

For an appointment:
First, may we again strongly recommend you see the show one night.
Then, if it's up your alley, email us or say hi after the show.
